THRIFT STORE
Something you think is junk and simply want to toss out, may just be the one thing that someone has been searching for.
The Thrift store listed its first item on eBay, a small 6 inch vase…quite unassum-ing in appearance with a little floral de-sign. No pottery company name was em-bossed on the bottom, only several sym-bols and numbers.
After a great deal of research and a little luck, the vase was identified as a piece of Rookwood pottery from 1929. And, so the auction began. Volunteers and employees alike watched the price climb over the seven day auction.
To everyone‟s amazement and delight the piece finished out at $752.00. It was defi-nitely a home run and has everyone look-ing for another would-be treasure in all of the incoming boxes. Who knows…maybe the Antiques Road Show is next!
So, you just never know. Something you think is junk and simply want to toss out, may just be the one thing that someone has been searching for.
