GROWTH OF HCAL
From humble beginnings in 1986, the Hill Country Animal League has grown to fulfill many dreams.
With a vibrant rummage business and a full time spay/neuter clinic, HCAL is a dynamic part of the life of Boerne, Kendall County, and surrounding Hill Country communities.

From chasing goats down the freeway, we became a contract spay/neuter operation, with a bit of adoption business on the side. In 2006 we became a full time spay/neuter operation, with multiple vets and our own caring staff. Multi-agency adop-tions are held on weekends at the clinic. From selling a few items which generated a few dollars a week for surgeries, the Rummage Store has become a thriving business and a major contributor to the economic life of Boerne.
We have been able, with the help of our Foundation and donations large and small, to plan for the future and be-come even better at fulfilling our missions of spay/neuter, education, and adoption.
Please join us in celebrating the success of our enter-prises and help us fulfill our mission to help animals and their people. Your tax-deductible donation is vital and every dollar counts.
We offer services to the public as well as many animal rescue organizations. Our ef-forts focus on serving low income families who may not have the disposable income to sterilize their pets.
Our goal is to help reduce the number of breeding animals in an effort to decrease the number of stray and orphaned animals on the streets in our community and in our shelters.
